The start order for the initial phase (short program or compulsory dance) of the competition has traditionally been determined by random draw, but at some competitions is now the reverse order of seeding or qualification placement.

競技会の最初の段階（ショートプログラムまたはコンパルソリーダンス）での滑走順は従来よりランダムの抽選で決められている。しかし、いくつかの試合ではシードの逆順にしたり、与えられた順番からはじめる。
