4回転サルコウとトゥループを含む3つのジャンプでスコアカードに「＜」がついた。これはテクニカルパネルが空中で4回転必要とされるところを少なくともあと4分の1足りないとみなしたことを意味し、基礎点から30パーセント引かれる。

土曜日に回転不足をうけたのはジョウだけではない。韓国のジュンファン・チャもまたショート2位だったが、5つの回転不足をうけてフリーでは8位になり、結局6位に落ちてしまった。
